Catechumens from St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish and their sponsors attended the Rite of Election the weekend of March 8th/9th at St. John the Baptist Church in Winslow, Maine with Bishop James Ruggieri. Traditionally held on the first weekend of Lent, the Rite of Election marks a significant step for those journeying to the Catholic faith. It signals the beginning of their final preparation for the reception of the sacraments at Easter. 

Participating in the Rite of Election this year were: Kixx Alderette, Amber Alderette, Skylar Alderette, Demi Alderette, Tom Borden, Christian Borden and Gabe Dilio. Monique Claverie, Christian Initiation/RCIA Leader, accompanied the group which also included sponsors Silk Alderette and Desiree Tyrell.  Sponsor Connie Coleman was unable to attend.
