Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus honored veterans at Togus Medical Center in Augusta on Sunday, November 10, 2024. Twelve Fourth Degree Knights from around the state were present to provide an Honor Guard for veterans who attended Mass that morning in the VA hospital's chapel.
Representatives from the Knights and their families went up to the wards before Mass and wheeled the patients to the chapel, where they were saluted by an Honor Guard from the patriotic Fourth Degree. Knights from around the state share the honor of escorting veterans to Mass every Sunday at Togus in the K of C initiative known as Operation Wheelchair. This Sunday, as part of the Veterans Day weekend celebration, the District of Maine Fourth Degree Knights also provided an Honor Guard.
