Rachel Joerges, Director of Faith Formation for Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Parish, extended a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make the Faith Formation Bake Sale, held November 24th, a success. The bake sale raised $510, which was donated to the Irene Chadbourne Ecumenical Food Pantry.
Parishioners from St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish gathered Sunday evening, December 8, 2024, for the blessing of the Christmas creche in downtown Calais. Knights of Columbus Council # 149 sponsored the event and Father Roland Berngeh was on hand to bless the manger scene.
Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus honored veterans at Togus Medical Center in Augusta on Sunday, November 10, 2024. Twelve Fourth Degree Knights from around the state were present to provide an Honor Guard for veterans who attended Mass that morning in the VA hospital's chapel.
Faith Formation students from St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish dressed up as saints Sunday morning in preparation for celebrating All Saints Day. Faith Formation leaders provided a fun mix of pumpkin carving, games, face painting and snacks after Mass on Sunday, October 27, 2024, where children from all the churches in the parish could learn about the religious origins of Halloween.
John Deetjen, Former District Master, came to Calais Sunday evening, October 20, 2024, to install the 2024-2025 officers for Assembly 342 of the Knights of Columbus. Installed Sunday evening were: Gary Madore, Three-Year Trustee; Mike Boies, Faithful Scribe; Rejean Roussel, Faithful Pilot; Ed Stover, Faithful Navigator; Father Roland Berngeh, Faithful Friar; George McLaughlin, Faithful Comptroller; Claude Landry, Faithful Admiral and Weston Ranalli, Faithful Purser.
Parishioners of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish gathered after the 8:30 Mass in Calais on Sunday, October 13, 2024, to show their appreciation for Father Jude Lawsamba's time in the parish this summer and fall. Father Roland thanked Father Jude for his help over the past four months while Father Jude took a break from his studies in Rome. Mike Boies, Chair of the Parish Council, presented Father Jude with gifts from the Ladies Sodality, the parish and the Knights of Columbus.
Parishioners of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish gathered Sunday after 10:30 Mass in Calais to honor Cheryl Amber and Kathy Lawrence, who are both retiring this week after years of dedicated service to the parish. Father Roland praised both women as responsible for helping him negotiate his new pastoral responsibilities when he arrived in the parish last summer.
The Officers for the Knights of Columbus 2024-2025 fraternal year were installed Sunday evening, September 22, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Church in Calais. District Deputy Edward Stover presided, assisted by Gary Madore, Acting District Warden, and Father Jude Lawsamba, Acting Chaplain.
Father Jude Lawsamba was inducted into the First through Third Degrees of the Knights of Columbus at Holy Name Church in Machias on Sunday, September 15, 2024. The Exemplification Team from K of C Council #188 in Machias were on hand to perform the ceremony, as were Michael Boies, Grand Knight of K of C Council #149 in Calais, and Edward Stover, representing the State Council for District 18, which includes both the Calais and Machias councils.

Parishioners of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish participated in a Rosary Rally after Mass on Sunday, August 18, 2024. Sponsored by the Maine Needs Fatima organization, the rally took place in the grassy area of Calais Avenue, just in front of Immaculate Conception church, where volunteers from the church had helped to assemble tents and chairs for the participants.

Father Joseph Osunde, OP, from Good Shepherd Parish in Saco, will be speaking at Masses in St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish the weekend of August 10th and 11th. Father Joseph is a member of the Dominican Fathers & Brothers from the Province of Nigeria and will be speaking about the order's missionary efforts.

Knights of Columbus St. Croix Council #149 in Calais hosted a Father's Day picnic at the Immaculate Conception Church Hall on Saturday evening, June 15, 2024. At least 40 members of the parish and their families were in attendance.
Bishop James Ruggieri is sending Father Jude Lawsamba to St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish to assist Father Roland until October. Father Jude, originally from Cameroon, has been studying in Rome. He is scheduled to arrive in Calais this summer.
Eight Knights of Columbus Third Degree members from Calais and Machias became members of the K of C Fourth Degree Saturday, June 8, 2024, in Calais. A diocesan seminarian serving in Houlton also joined the Fourth Degree with the group. State Officers were in attendance to perform the ceremony, as well as members of the Assembly 342 Honor Guard. Joining the ranks of the Fourth Degree were: John Magera, Julian Jörges, Weston Ranalli, George Brady, Father Roland Berngeh, John Shively, Ezekiel Banla , Keith Auld and Christopher Sarao.
